Football observations

My football observations for the weekend

Tech
--Reggie Ball-- Lookin' good... too bad he's already a junior, too bad we
can't keep him another 3 or 4 years, then he'd be great!
--Calvin Johnson-- A wide out whose about 8 feet tall and has a 32 foot
vertical leap. And he can catch the ball sometimes too!! We need
another wide reciever thats 85-95% as good as him to take over when
Calvin's being double covered
--PJ Daniels heeheehee... always good for 4 or 5 yards at least!

Auburn(t)-- HA HA!!
Just 50 yards rushing! haha
but 342 yards passing!! d'oh! Tech still needs better passing defence

Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VaPIaSU)
--Marcus Vick-- Holy Crap! what, they clone Mike?

OOOOOOOOOklahoma--What's that smell??

Tenn-- Why is Tenn having problems with UAB? OverRATED!(clap, clap...clapclapclap) OverRATED!

USC-- Well, of course USC is going to whallop HAWAII!!

F$U-- The end of a dynasty?? Offense was sloppy... they didn't win, Miami lost.

Miami--What, did they hire F$U's "wide right" kicking team? Can their O-line be any more inviting to the sack?

OVERALL

Best in ACC
GaTech
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VaPIaSU) (note, this school is *NOT* TECH!)

Best in NCAA (a.k.a. my prediction for RoseBowl)
Texas
Michigan

with an honorable mention to:
USC
Ohio State

That is all.

The Breakdown of Society has Begun

1051 CDT --- Updated spelling. Can't spell. Sorry.

Today's "Plinkey's What the CRAP??!!?? Moment of the Day" comes from New Orleans.

The looting and violence is appalling. I understand, in this situation, breaking into a grocery store to get food, or into wal-mart to get diapers and formula. BUT those idiots in NOLA are taking plasma TV's, stereos, GUNS.... I saw video of one guy taking about 100 pairs of shoes WITH THE DISPLAY CASE. WHAT THE CRAP!?!? Those morons have now started SHOOTING AT THE POLICE, COAST GUARD, NATIONAL GUARD AND OTHER RELIEF WORKERS!!!

WHAT THE CRAP!!

Here's what apparently goes on in their mind: "I didn't evacuate the city when they told me to. I never took any precautions and stoked up on supplies even though I live in a place VERY susceptible to Hurricanes and Floods. I have been stuck on my roof for most of a week. Even though I may be a bit hungry, I'm in reasonably good health. I WANNA BE RESCUED BEFORE THE DYING AND THE SICK. THEY ARE NOT RESCUING ME FIRST. I'M ANGRY. **I'M GONNA SHOOT AT THE RESCUERS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT COMING TO ME FIRST!**"

WHAT THE CRAP!?!? Those people only think of themselves. They should have been prepared... should have evacuated the city.... should think of others that may need help before them. They are just making things worse. MUCH WORSE. I heard that the national guard is going to start to "shoot to kill" to get looters/violence under control. 'bout damn time.

One lady was complaining on the tv: she had no food or water since sunday night. ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD. She was finally rescued late THURSDAY, taken to the superdome and given an MRE (militalry food ration). She was starving, and given food by the national guard. SHE THEN GOES ON NATIONAL TV AND COMPLAINS ABOUT THE FOOD. She said that the food was disgusting and that she couldn't eat it. She said that the "food was cold, and it was horrible." You MORON!! I guess you would prefer to stay stranded on your roof with NOTHING!!! MRE's aren't THAT bad!!

******switching gears******
WHAT THE CRAP is going on at the superdome??? THAT crap IS NOT the fault of the people there. They should have gotten the LA national guard there TUESDAY behind the storm. But... no. Actually MOST of the LA national guard is in Iraq! what the crap is the national guard doing in Iraq? The National guard should stay behind, in the states, to defend here while the active duty and reserves go off to fight wars. But no... now NOLA has descended to at least the 9th layer of hell.
****************

DISCLAIMER: I do realize that 99% of the NO people are NOT looting, killing, causing violence, etc. Most are just pissed off that nothing is happening, and that they are stuck in the superdome in 100 degree heat and everythings starting to smell like crap. Which is nothing new since the Saints paly there.

And now... Plinkey's "Reasons for the Breakdown of Society"
Here are some of the reasons I think caused the breakdown of society in NOLA

1. BAD PARENTING. I've seen firsthand how crappy some parents are. They don't care. They let their 3 year olds watch R movies (and worse). They beat their children. They neglect their children. They had children by accident when they were too young. They ENCOURAGE their children to be disrespectful to authority. etc etc

2. Rap music. Well it sucks anyway. A lot of it can be summed up this way "I wanna have sex with a whore; I wanna kill her afterwards; I'm gonna use cocaine; And that's gonna make me cool; that's gonna make you cool too"
---note to self...don't become a rapper

3. John Kerry. Well, not really. But I wanted to include him anyway.

4. People who blame Bush for everything. If you don't like him, YOU SHOULD VOTE! Everything is NOT his fault. He's doing the best he can.

5. Bush. Geez, why are all our troops on the other side of the planet getting killed? Why aren't more troops in LA/MS and other areas to keep order and help relief? Don't tell me logistics. If the Airbore from Ft. Benning, GA can get to the Mid. East in hours, they can damn well parachute into LA in 2. At least that would be better than nothing.

6. People who rant and rave on blogs. D'OH!!

You get the idea. Moral of the story for the citizens of NO: when the government issues a MANDATORY evacuation, evacuate. If you can't, you should take a hint from the government that some sort of hell is coming and stock up on supplies.

Moral of the story for the LA/MS governments: when the mother-of-all-hurricanes is approaching, better make plans for your refugees BEFORE the hurricane hits, not a week afterwards. Even though you did not know the levees were going to break, you should have had the national guard there, in droves, on Tuesday. Better err on the side of caution.

Finally the last "what the crap" moment, whose idea was it to build a major US city 20 feet BELOW see level? I mean, did the Engineer/Designers just kinda FORGET the fact that thousands/millions/billions of gallons of water are ABOVE their heads?

WHAT THE CRAP??!!??

And let the flamewar begin....
