I'm STILL ALIVE..... but only barely

Yeah, I feel like crap. I just got over my 4th cold/flu in 6 weeks...... WTF is up with that?

In other news... did you know that due to the Federal Removal of Freedoms act of 2005 you can no longer buy pseudoephedrine over the counter? You have to go to the pharmacist, and have them take your Driver's license, SSN#, fingerprints, RETNAL scan, RECTAL scan (don't even ask) just to buy a freekin pill!! WTF is up with that??

All the other cold medicines have changed their formulas to either 1) remove any decongestants or 2) use some other crap that only works 1/10000000th as good. They ALL SUCK. Believe me, i've tried them all in the last 6 weeks.

Meanwhile, I haven't given up on running... just haven't while i've been feeling sick. Down10ish pounds to 190 though! woohoo!

[end rant]

If anybody wants to go to Bonnaroo and needs a place to stay, I live 5 min away from the site, and we'll let you crash at our place. Our only requirement: stay away from the drugs, which [gasp!] are prevalant at Hippieroo Bonnaroo.

Just let me know. Buy your tickets NOW.. they are going fast!

UTSI and politicians

I've learned a bit more about UTSI (the school I'm going to)

It's tiny. I've done some exploring... I was wrong- the academic bldg is SMALLER than the GaTech library. It's itty-bitty. Also, thanks to the miracle of the interweb, lots of people take their Tullahoma classes in Knoxville. There is NOBODY here in Tullahoma. I saw one statistic that there were 140 students, 60 of them being full-time. DAMN!

With a pitiful attendance like that, I hope I can actually finish a degree before they shut it down.

I doubt it'll shut down, though. The Governor wants to add a statewide magnet math/science high school here--that'll help.

I doubt the governor will get his school either. Politicians are stupid. Here's a joke:

Q: How are politicians and diapers alike?
A: They both should be changed often, and for the same reason.

Politicians are full of crap. They don't care about the city/state/country they represent. they only care about pleasing the people who give them money. They only care about keeping their job.

In other news, I finally broke down and bought me new running shoes, but haven't been able to try them out-- flu.

In other, other news-- MA and I are headed to DisneyWorld weekend after the Super Bowl... hopefully will be fun.

update

Well, its been a few days:

Friday: 2 lap-er (3.5 miles) warm and sunny (50's)
Monday: 3 laps (5.25 miles) mild and rainy (40's)
Tuesday 1lap (1.75 miles) COOOOOOLLLDDDD and windy and snowy (air temp 25, windchill 10, no accumulation) I gave up early.... damn, has living in the south weakened me? Weather like this used to be a heat wave for this time of year in Wisconsin!

Outlook for today: COOOLD (notice 3 "o"'s instead of 6). Feeling good... still need new shoes. I just don't know which kind to get that has good arch support. I think that's some of my problem, I have high arches. When I'm walking on sand, my footprint is: Toes, balls of feet, then heal.... nothing inbetween. I laced them up differently- straight across from hole-to-hole instead of crisscrossing, that helped a whole bunch... less pressure on that part of my foot. But still 99.9999% of my foot discomfort is due to the fact that the shoe is falling apart.

School's out....for....a week.....

dadadadum...dadadadum..dadadadumdumdum..
yeah, you get the idea.

Class was good...weird getting back into the whole taking-class-routine. Prof showed up to the wrong classroom. Only 7 people in the class! dang! Laptop's wireless connection worked BEFORE class, but couldn't connect AFTER. Gave up, went to work.

First day of school

schSo here I am waiting for my first grad school class to start at www.usti.edu . This place is freeking tiny compared to GaTech. The one and only building for offices & classrooms (support bldgs and research bldgs are seaparate) is maybe 2-3 times the size of the GaTech library, but THATS IT. This is really just a satellite campus of UT-Knoxville that teaches AE stuff.... a little math and a little ME and a little ECE, but not much else. I'm taking Partial Differential Equations (fun). I'll post another after class. until then....

When's that......BAAAAAAAABY.... due?

If TOYS-r-us sells TOYS, what does BABYS-r-us sell?

There should be a baby rental service. That way, you could just go rent a baby for the weekend. I keep trying to steal next door's, but her mom keeps figuring out that she's missing a baby.
